Usually, this is a serviceable item with a limited lifespan. When the throwout bearing fails, you might notice difficulty shifting and odd noises when engaging and disengaging the clutch.
Also, a faulty throwout bearing can cause further damage to the transmission and the clutch. Unfortunately, this is not a cheap fix since it requires 5 to 6 hours of work. But, since the cost is already high, I would suggest getting an upgraded throwout bearing to avoid these issues again. You can get one at urdusa. Still, a squeaky clutch pedal can drive anyone up the wall considering you will hear it at least times when driving for 10 miles in stop-and-go traffic.
Luckily, you can solve this problem pretty quickly with some brake lube which is what Tacoma forum members used.
Another issue that plagues all manual transmissions eventually is a loose or shifter. However, the main problem point in a Tacoma shifter is an integrated non-serviceable rubber bushing.
That means you have to replace the entire shifter to fix the issue. Plus, you will still be able to shift into all gears without much difficulty.
But if you appreciate a good shifter feel, I would suggest getting an adjustable short shifter. The Tacoma has a long shifter throw from the factory, and with an adjustable shifter, you can set it up just how you like it and get rid of the slop.

I called weathertech but they do not make them. Isn't it the same as the MT? IDK, I'm not familiar the prior year models. You would think the are same or fairly similiar. Nothing has changed since to the best of my knowledge. OEM all weather mats are great, don't over-think this one. Did your truck come with anything?

At its brawniest, the Tacoma can tow up to pounds with rear-wheel drive; four-wheel-drive versions can pull pounds.
